Skin Treats

It’s no secret that ‘Bliss Balls’ are like the new ‘healthy’ treat. I myself love a treat, I have such a sweet tooth. I’m forever baking slices and sweets for snacks.

To be honest most days I enjoy a good slice/cake and I’m not worried about it or anything, I keep pretty fit and have quite a balanced diet but I must admit when you can hit the nail on the head and combine sweet-treat with ‘good for you’ I’m all ears!

I’ve been making Bliss Balls for a few years now, well ever since I got my Thermomix (which is amazing by the way) and I always like to shake them up with different ingredients.

They are such a great way to get kids to eat a variety of nuts & seeds too – especially when you can palm it off as a treat!

I made a batch of Beauty Bliss-Balls today, I say Beauty because they are loaded with goodness that not only is good for your insides but benefits your skin too. Keep reading for the recipe, a friend of mine gave me the original recipe for these and I’ve just tweaked it a little.

These have come to be my favourite go-to healthy treat. Quick and easy to make, and quickly fix that ‘cake time’ craving, perfect with that afternoon coffee.

Cashew nuts

Cashews are known for their acne-fighting nutrients. High in selenium which can help to reduce inflammation.

Goji Berries

Are super high in Vitamin C which is helps with skin firming and tightening. Like all berries Goji’s are also loaded with antioxidants.

Medjool Dates

Can prevent the accumulation of melanin in your body, which otherwise has undesirable effects like pigmentation and age spots.

Pepitas

Packed with essentials fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The oil from pepitas can help to soothe and hydrate your skin – from within!

Chia Seeds

Anti-inflammatory properties can help fight acne and skin prone to blemishes. Also rich in fatty acids helping the skin stay hydrated and look plumper.
